The earliest years shape lifelong wellbeing. VellumWorks is developing practical digital resources to support families, small charities and community groups, making early help easier to find, understand and access before challenges become crises.
While our own tools are in development, these are some of the most trusted organisations working in early years and family support.
Home-Start trains volunteers to visit families at home, offering practical and emotional support during the early years. They work across the UK with parents who have at least one child under five and are struggling with isolation, postnatal depression, bereavement or other challenges.
Family Lives offers support, advice and guidance on all aspects of family life, from parenting toddlers to navigating difficult teen years. Their free helpline and online community is open to anyone who needs a listening ear or practical guidance.
The NSPCC works to protect children from abuse and neglect, and to support families where children are at risk. Their Childline service gives children a confidential space to talk, and their parent helpline supports adults worried about a child.
Action for Children supports disadvantaged children, young people and families across the UK through practical, emotional and financial help. They run over 500 services nationally, focusing on early intervention and prevention.
Start4Life is the NHS programme supporting parents from pregnancy through to toddlerhood. It provides evidence-based advice on feeding, sleep, development and emotional wellbeing for the whole family. Free and accessible online.
We are developing resources and tools to support this pillar. If you work in early years, family support or child development and want to shape what we build, we would love to hear from you.
